The 87th Oscars ended with a flourish tonight as Fox Searchlight’s Birdman won Best Picture, one of four of its victories on the night. Fellow Searchlight pic The Grand Budapest Hotel also had four wins. The marquee acting categories ended up going the most likely directions, with The Theory Of Everything‘s Eddie Redmayne and Still Alice‘s Julianne Moore taking Best Actor and Best Actress and Patricia Arquette of Boyhood and JK Simmons from Whiplash taking the Supporting Actress categories — all four were the clear favorites going in.
