The Swiss are no strangers to the dual-national recruiting game Klinsmann plays so well, and this month they've welcomed their latest recruit, Embolo, into the senior squad. FC Basel's 17-year-old Cameroonian-born wunderkind turned heads in this year's UEFA Champions League, and with Xherdan Shaqiri nursing a thigh injury, the home crowd will be watching to see if Embolo makes his debut against the Yanks.

World Wrestling Entertainment’s 31st annual WrestleMania event takes place Sunday night from Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, in Santa Clara, Calif. It is the first WrestleMania ever held in the Bay Area and only the sixth to take place in an open-air venue (the forecast is 75 degrees and sunny).

WWE boss Vince McMahon told the San Jose Mercury News when the event was first announced in December 2013 that WrestleMania would, “rival, if not supersede, the Super Bowl,” which will be hosted by Levi’s next year. Legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan says WrestleMania is like “the Super Bowl, but times 1,000.”

This year’s card features nine matches highlighted by the WWE World Heavyweight Championship battle between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Other matches include: Sting vs. Triple H; AJ Lee and Paige vs. the Bella Twins; John Cena vs. Rusev; The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt; Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins; the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal; and four-way tag team and ladder bouts.

Electrifying hand speed meets punishing punching power on Saturday night when WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (57-8, 48 KO) defends his title against "Mr." Gary Russell Jr. (25-1, 14 KO).

The two men will clash at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas in what has the makings of a stylistically superb battle. Gonzalez brings devastating one-punch KO power into the ring, but he'll have to deal with a man who may have the fastest combinations in the sport.

Russell is a gifted fighter with the physical tools to dismantle most opponents. He found out in June 2014 that Vasyl Lomachenko was not most fighters. The ultra-skilled and athletic Ukrainian outboxed Russell en route to a majority decision win that awarded Lomachenko the vacant WBO featherweight title.

Russell and his camp had long been criticized for the fighter's less-than impressive resume. The doubters seemed to believe that when Russell met up with another talented young fighter, he'd be exposed.

The loss seemed to prove the skeptics correct. Russell had his moments against Lomachenko, but he seemed baffled once he realized that his speed alone wouldn't be enough to overwhelm his opponent. 

Throughout Russell's career, he's able to unleash a fierce set of punches and use his quickness to counter effectively. For the first time ever in his professional career, he lost. Since then, he won a lopsided unanimous decision over Christopher Martin in Dec. 2014.

In a relatively quick second opportunity at a world title, Russell says he'll be ready to come away victorious, per Andreas Hale of The Ring Magazine.

Russell blames the loss to Lomachenko on a lack of energy. The 26-year-old from Washington, D.C. believes the inclusion of a strength and conditioning coach disturbed his training regimen. Per Hale, Russell said this about the lesson he learned and what zapped his energy:

If I learned anything from that fight that is if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. He [strength and conditioning coach] had me in the sauna trying to cut the last couple of pounds without working out or anything and it completely drained me of all my energy. I was completely tired in the first round and it didn’t matter if I was in the ring with a 10-year-old kid. In the state that I was in the physical ability to go 12 rounds with anyone was gone.

Whether it was Lomachenko's talent or Russell's lack of energy, "Mr." didn't get it done that night. With his battery recharged and a new opportunity to win a title in front of him, it's crucial he be at his best on Saturday.

You could compare Gonzalez to a power-hitting mistake hitter in baseball. If an opponent leaves Gonzalez an opening, he'll pound them with a nasty left hook counter that can end the night in a second.

Technically it'll take 10 seconds to count, but the victim will probably be unconscious for most of the time. Gonzalez has twice defended the title he won emphatically back in Aug. 2014 when he eradicated Abner Mares with his signature punch in the first round of their championship bout.

Mares is a tough guy with a solid chin, but Gonzalez's bomb put an end to the evening. Most recently, Gonzalez stopped the tough and rugged Jorge Arce in the 11th round of their bout on Oct. 2014.

Gonzalez is looking for a big payday, and he might find one if he can stop Russell Jr. 

Three Key Stats to Consider

Few fighters have a KO rate above 60 percent. Even fewer smaller-weight fighters have a KO percentage that high. Gonzalez packs a punch that is tough to compare to any other featherweight—or lightweight for that matter.

His KO percentage of 73.85 is even more impressive when you consider he has sustained that mark through 65 professional fights. 

Russell clearly understands how to win rounds. In his last three victories that have gone the distance, Russell has won every round on all nine judges' scorecards. The superior athleticism and hand speed make an impression on the judges and mark on his opponent's face.

The old adage in boxing goes: A strong jab can neutralize speed. Gonzalez has the physical tools to put this to the test. He owns a five-inch reach advantage over Russell. We'll see if the length advantage will allow Gonzalez to dominate with the jab.

Prediction

Speed kills and Russell has plenty of it. Clearly Gonzalez has more power, but the champion is going to be overmatched. Russell's hand and foot speed will be the deciding factors. As long as Russell protects himself and keeps his hands high—especially when disengaging after a clinch.

Gonzalez's length and punching power give him a chance, but Russell should be too tough to hit and counter with his scoring combinations. A flash knockdown is a possibility, but Russell should take this one by decision.

Real were taking all before them pre-Christmas but since then have gone off the boil somewhat, as their current form below shows.

Home advantage isn't really an advantage where Clasico's are concerned, and indeed, Barca have only won two home league games against Los Blancos in the last five years, per Fussball Wettpoint.

The return of both Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric to Real's starting lineup is a real fillip for Carlo Ancelotti, but if Lionel Messi plays anywhere close to his performance against Manchester City, then we might see a repeat of the "manita" of 2010.

Marc Bartra really deserves the opportunity to stand alongside Gerard Pique, but the manager is likely to stick to his tried-and-tested and place Jeremy Mathieu there.

Ivan Rakitic has done enough to warrant a starting berth, but you wonder to what extent Xavi will play a part. This is likely to be his last El Clasico, therefore you can understand why there might be a little sentiment attached to team selection.

And after all, he's still "got it." Watching him and Andres Iniesta against Rayo Vallecano was a joy and harked back to an era that is rapidly being consigned to the history books.

Luis Enrique will not want Toni Kroos, Isco or Luka Modric getting a foothold in the midfield, but whether a high press and squeeze is beneficial is a moot point. Barca have come unstuck when Madrid have pumped balls over the top in games before now.

Raphael Varane will make way for Sergio Ramos, partnering Pepe in a strong central defensive unit while Marcelo will stand toe-to-toe with his Brazilian team mate Dani Alves. It could well be the last time those two meet in earnest, given that Alves is rumoured to have secured a move away from Camp Nou per Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.

Dani Carvajal will have the unenviable job of marking Neymar and the marauding Jordi Alba.

Claudio Bravo let in three the last time the teams met, and you can be assured that his professional pride won't allow him to even contemplate a similar scenario playing out.

At the other end, Iker Casillas will be booed and whistled again, but at least it's not from his own fans this time.

Can Cristiano Ronaldo up his game for El Clasico?

His pace will always cause Barca problems, and to that end, utilising Jeremy Mathieu rather than Marc Bartra alongside Gerard Pique would be a mistake.

While there are still many points to play for after this game, Ronaldo is likely to adopt an all or nothing attitude, knowing that a win for Real leaves the race for the title back in their own hands.

Giving away free-kicks within range might cause the Catalans problems because, although the Portuguese hasn't scored from a direct free-kick in his last 51 attempts, per AS via ESPN, that run has to end soon. Why not in the backyard of your fiercest rivals?

Luis Suarez is in much better form now than on debut at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Luis Suarez and Pepe in the same game is a recipe for fireworks, but with both at the top of their game, the battle between the two will be a fascinating contest.

The Portuguese needs to remain touch-tight on Suarez at all times, because the Uruguayan is adept on turning on a sixpence, and once he is facing goal, he will cause problems.

Direct running and the ability to draw players into the foul in dangerous areas are what Pepe and Sergio Ramos have to look forward to, and neither will be relishing the prospect.

Allowing Suarez the opportunity of a run on goal is tantamount to professional suicide. At arms length, please.

Pepe will certainly have earned his keep by the end of this one, and if he is able to ensure a shut-out, then expect to see his name splashed right across the back pages. Why? Because the difference in the player in terms of discipline and tactical nous from this time last season is marked. He deserves huge credit for turning that part of his game around.

England vs. France: Live Stream, and TV Info

No matter what else happens in Saturday's preceding games, England will have their championship fate in their own hands when they face France at Twickenham for the last match of the 2015 Six Nations.

After Ireland's defeat to Wales in the penultimate round of matches, and England's scrappy win over Scotland, Stuart Lancaster's men now sit top of the standings with one match remaining, per RBS 6 Nations:

The schedule has worked in England's favour for the last day of play on Saturday, as they will know exactly what is needed if they are to lift the title, with Wales playing Italy and Ireland facing Scotland earlier in the day.

Here is a full preview of Saturday's clash between a brutal French side and Lancaster's England, as well as scheduling, television and live streaming information.

France have had an inconsistent, ugly Six Nations campaign this year; losses to Ireland and Wales paired with victories over Scotland and Italy leave them in fourth place.

They have been accused by many of betraying the traditional French style of flair and pace with a physical, pack-dominated game in which contact is relished and space avoided.

However, defeats for Ireland and Wales on Saturday and a French victory by at least eight points at Twickenham would hand Les Bleus an incredibly unlikely championship title.

While any possibility of such an outcome may be dashed before kick-off in south west London, France will not simply roll over against England.

They have an incredibly strong and physical pack—see second rows Alexandre Flanquart and substitute Romain Taofifenua, described by Courtney Lawes as "the big dudes," per Chris Jones in the Evening Standard. 

Saturday's forward clash will be a key part of the game, with England set to be looking for scores to claim the victory, and potentially make up a necessary points difference to claim the title.

England have more than enough ability in the forwards to take on the French pack and win, not least in Lawes who returned from long-term injury against Scotland and put in a brilliant performance, per Rugby World's Charlie Morgan:

However, discipline will be required, as will a more clinical ability to finish off chances than was shown against the Scottish.

As 2003 World Cup winner Will Greenwood noted, the fact that England created so many chances on Saturday, breaking the line on many occasions, should be seen as a positive:

But a similarly wasteful display against France could mean falling short, yet again, in the race for the Six Nations title—England have not won the championship since 2011.

While France snatched victory in the last minute against England in 2014's Six Nations at the Stade de France, recent history favours the hosts on Saturday.

Les Bleus have not prevailed at Twickenham in the Six Nations since 2005, while England have won seven of the last 10 matches between the pair.

However, the margin of victory could be key on Saturday, meaning try-scoring could be at a premium. France have conceded just two tries in the entire tournament, however.

England should beat France at Twickenham, and that may be enough to clinch the title. Lancaster will expect nothing less than a complete display, though, with the World Cup looming later this year. 

Clinical finishing, discipline and intelligence will all be needed for the English on what could be a triumphant day at Twickenham but complacency is not an option.

UFC Fight Night 62: Maia vs. LaFlare Fight Card, TV and Info

On Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 62 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the undefeated Ryan LaFlare will attempt to run his record to 12-0 in a true test of his skills and poise. LaFlare faces popular Brazilian Demian Maia behind enemy lines.

In the co-feature, veteran Josh Koscheck will climb back into the Octagon after losing by submission less than a month ago to Jake Ellenberger. Koscheck will take on Erick Silva in what could be the popular veteran's last stand.

Here's the viewing information and predictions for the entire card. Just below the table is a breakdown of LaFlare vs. Maia and the other top fights on the card.

LaFlare isn't just taking on one of mixed martial arts' most gifted Brazilian jiu-jitsu artists. He's doing it in Brazil where he'll have almost everyone in attendance rooting against him.

LaFlare knows what to expect. He defeated Brazilian Santiago Ponzinibbio there in Nov. 2013. Per the interview from the UFC's YouTube channel, he embraces the energy—even though it's of the negative variety.

Without question, Maia will be more motivated to bring home a win in front of his home crowd. He'll also be charged to perform well after a 2014 bone infection in his right clavicle had him concerned about continuing his career and even questioning his quality of life moving forward.

In an interview with Fox Sports' Damon Martin, Maia said: "When you do the things you need to do to recover and you don't get better, it starts getting scary, and you start to ask yourself if you're even going to be able to fight again. At one point, I wasn't even thinking about my fight career, I was thinking about my life."

Maia is all healed up and ready to rejoin the championship chase in the welterweight division. The 37-year-old is ranked No. 7, and he hopes to defend his Top 10 standing against the No. 14-ranked LaFlare.

At 31, LaFlare is at an age where he should be in his physical prime, but it's time for him to make serious moves if he hopes to face off against the elite fighters in the weight class soon. Maia has had his time in the Octagon with elite fighters, though most of it took place when he was still competing at 185 pounds.

He wants one more run at UFC gold, but he needs to stop LaFlare's ascension up the ranks to facilitate that. It would really make a statement if LaFlare could stop Maia. LaFlare hasn't stopped an opponent in any of his four fights in the UFC, and Maia has only been finished once in his MMA career.

Can LaFlare stick it to the Brazilian crowd, or will he find himself in a sticky situation with Maia on the ground?

Maia's grappling prowess is well-documented, as is LaFlare's wrestling skills. While Maia might have an edge in submissions, LaFlare should be able to hold his own from a positioning and balance standpoint as it pertains to grappling. That brings us to the stand-up portion of the matchup.

Between the two southpaws, LaFlare is the more agile and smoother striker. That shines through when you look at his significant-strikes-landed-per-minute rate. He's tagging opponents an average of 4.07 times every 60 seconds compared to just 1.84 for Maia.

This speaks to LaFlare's work rate and stamina. Ultimately, he'll ride his workman-like striking and ability to hold his own on the ground to a unanimous-decision victory.

Most people don't like to advise guys to retire—OK, maybe most do. In the case of Koscheck, he really should listen to the widespread advice. On Saturday, he'll take on Erick Silva just 21 days after he was grossly submitted (warning: graphic image) by Jake Ellenberger at UFC 184.

In an interview with UFC.com's Duane Finley, Koscheck explains his decision to step in for the injured Ben Saunders:

Dana White called me a few days after my last fight to see what’s up and check on how I was feeling. I told him I was feeling awesome and there are bigger things in life than winning and losing fights, but I’m a competitor and I take it to heart. I told him I made one mistake in that fight and it cost me. I told Dana I was in shape and ready to go. If he got any calls about anyone dropping out at 170 please let me know because I was ready. I would fight on a one day notice. I don’t care.

Word on the Street is just one of many predicting Koscheck's retirement after what would be his fifth-straight loss:

Silva is a bit of an enigma in his own right. He's as physically talented as anyone at 170 pounds, but he's struggled to finish fights when he's had the opportunity. Silva had hurt Matt Brown with body kicks when he faced him in May 2014, but he gassed out, and The Immortal outlasted him.

Silva won't have to worry about that against Koscheck. It's disturbing that Kos is being allowed to fight just three weeks after he nearly had his head yanked off by Ellenberger. That's a bit of hyperbole, but when you consider the 37-year-old has been stopped three times in a row, you can't overstate the concern for his well-being.

Even with Silva's unpredictable track record, he should stop Koscheck via TKO and bring about one of the most overdue retirements in recent memory.

Santos vs. Martin

At 25 years old, Tony Martin has a promising future in MMA, but his game still needs some diversity. At this point in his career, he's primarily a wrestler and submissions fighter. He has the look of a guy who could develop decently on his feet, but we haven't seen it as of yet.

Against Leonardo Santos, Martin will be facing a 35-year-old Brazilian veteran with excellent grappling skills. Martin hasn't proved himself capable of doing serious damage in stand-up exchanges; therefore, he still needs to take fights to the ground. 

That will prove to be difficult, as Santos' takedown defense is 83 percent. If Martin can't get the fight on his level, he may be unable to win. Furthermore, if he does take Santos down, there's no guarantee he gets the better of things on the mat.

Santos was a grappling demon in his last win over Efrain Escudero, and he'll be too much for Martin as well.

LaFlare isn't the only undefeated fighter set to perform on Saturday. As a matter of fact, five fighters on the card have an unblemished record: LaFlare, Gilbert Burns, Cain Carrizosa, Bentley Syler and Fredy Serrano.

Besides LaFlare, Burns is probably the most promising of the bunch. The 28-year-old Brazilian is 2-0 in the UFC, and he's shown the ability to win in a variety of ways. He has three wins by KO and five by submission in his career, per Sherdog. He'll face fellow Brazilian Alex "Cowboy" Oliveira. 

Silva leads all fighters on the card in Fight Night bonuses. He's secured six in his UFC career and three straight. Most recently, he took home a Performance of the Night bonus for his submission victory over Mike Rhodes at UFC Fight Night in Dec. 2014.

There's a good chance he could add to that total on Saturday against Koscheck.

Three fighters are making their UFC debuts on the card. The aforementioned Syler and Serrano, as well as the dangerous "Cowboy" Oliveira. Someone may want to tell him that his nickname is already taken in the UFC—and in his weight class—but the lightweight has put together a distinguished career thus far.

He's 10-1-1 with eight knockouts. He'll face a tough and equally dangerous opponent in Burns. Oliveira's indoctrination to the UFC might be a rough one.
