Masters week has officially arrived as the full field of 98 players ascend on Augusta National to jump start preparations for the 2015 Masters. While the tournament won't begin for another few days, there will be plenty of players on the course and around the practice facility on Monday with the start of official practice rounds.
That will include Tiger Woods who will end an extended sabbatical as he tries to regain the form from earlier in his career. Woods has not played a competitive round since he withdrew at the Farmers Insurance Open in early February. Woods has already played a practice round at Augusta, making the trek to Georgia last week. He's also not lacking familiarity with the course. Still, having not played much golf, the practice leading up to the first round on Thursday could be even more important for Woods than some players.
Augusta National is notoriously stingy in the amount of coverage it allows at the Masters each year, but that doesn't mean they will shun the cameras in the days leading up to the first round. There will be limited coverage of the practice on Monday with a few networks broadcasting live from Augusta National. Coverage won't be extensive, but fans can catch a glimpse of the grounds and some of the players. A good portion of the action will take place around the practice facility which got a makeover in 2010 and is one of the better facilities on any course. While it does a good job mimicking the conditions on the course, nothing can quite duplicate the Augusta National track which is why many players will hit the course for a practice round.
